Wheeler Peak Progressives (WPP), in partnership with Moreno Valley High School, Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce, Angel Fire Resort, Angel Fire Rotary, Colfax County Republican Party, and Shuter Library will host Candidate Forum 2018: A Community Comes Together.
The candidate forum will be held 6:30 – 8 p.m., Monday (Feb. 26) at the Moreno Valley High School. All are welcome to attend.
In Angel Fire’s Tuesday (March 6) municipal election, three candidates will vie for two 4-year Village Council positions: incumbents Rogers Lanon and Chuck Howe, and newcomer Jo Mixon.
For the single 2-year-term council seat, incumbent William (Bill) Humbert, who was appointed Nov. 7, 2017 to replace resigning member Brinn Colenda, will compete against newcomers John Hail and Dafydd (Dave) Pritchard.
Award-winning journalist, Guy Wood will serve as the candidate forum moderator. Wood has practiced journalism in Colorado and New Mexico for more than 50 years. He and his wife, Marcia owned the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle from 1984 through 2006. The Woods earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Mexico Press Association and a Eugene Cervi Award for courageous reporting from the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors.
