CIMARRON— Former Cimarron village councilor and mayoral candidate Sherry Bennett has joined the Cimarron Chamber of Commerce as a vice president. She replaces Judy Kahlor.
Bennet has lived in Cimarron for over 25 years and has been a member of Village Council, the Cimarron Housing Authority Board of Directors and helped organize many village events. She said she was drawn to the position because of her interest in bringing new businesses to Cimarron.
Bennet said she is impressed with the Chamber’s coordination of the recent Village Clean-Up Day and its work in helping launch the Cimarron Beautification and Revitalization Committee.
“I think they’re doing well,” Bennet said. “I think they are actively welcoming new businesses and making people feel welcome and trying to get more chamber members. That’s always a goal, getting more people involved.”
