CIMARRON — Anglers will return to Cimarron Canyon State Parks this Saturday (May 10) for the annual Children’s Fishing Derby at Gravel Pit Lakes. Young anglers will vie for prizes ranging from fishing gear to $25 to $35 gift certificates to local businesses.

All entrants will receive a free T-shirt plus a goodie bag packed with snacks, a coloring book and other prizes. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. Competitors will be split into three different divisions. A division for children ages 6 and younger, children ages 7 to 8 and a third for children 9 to 11. Each division will give prizes for the top three finishers. There will also be an award for the biggest catch of the day given to the boy and girl who come away with the largest fish.
