H.E.A.R.T. of Taos, a local, community-funded 501(c)3 nonprofit, and KNCE radio are hosting a first-ever live “Mother’s Day Radiothon” to benefit Taos County women (and their children and pets) facing homelessness 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (May 12) with KNCE DJ Susan Dilger.
The radiothon will stream live at TrueTaosRadio.com and on air at 93.5 FM. H.E.A.R.T. and KNCE hope to establish this first radiothon as a new annual fundraiser to raise critical funds to support Taos women and children. Donations will be accepted May 12 as well as prior to the event.
“Approximately one-third of the Taos women who come to us for assistance have children. Can you imagine how daunting it would be to face homelessness as a mother with children?” said Ama Khan, H.E.A.R.T.’s co-founder and executive director. “We invite our community to join us in showing these women and children that we care by establishing this first Mother’s Day radiothon as an annual community commitment to helping them get back on their feet.”
