Oldies Dinner, Dance & Auction a hoppin’ success

The 9th Annual “Oldies” Dinner, Dance & Auction Saturday (Aug. 5) was a hit, according to organizer Larry Layden.

“It went well,” Layden said. “I was very pleased with the attendance. We were happy with it. We had a new band, The Raven Hill Band from Albuquerque. They were different but they were good. To a person, everyone came to me and said this band was just fantastic. We expect a return engagement from them. They want to come back and everybody wants them to come back.”

Many attendees got into the spirit of the event, donning poodle skirts, bobby sox and other ’50s and ’60s outfits, for the rock n’ roll dinner dance and auction to help pay the mortgage for the new Holy Angels Catholic Mission building in Angel Fire.
