Resort lands 4th Wine Spectator award

For the fourth year Angel Fire Resort’s fine dining restaurant, Elements restaurant in the Angel Fire Resort Country Club, is being recognized for its world-class wine selection. Wine Spectator has released its 2017 Restaurant Wine List Awards, and the magazine honored Elements with an Award of Excellence.

The magazine’s annual international awards come in three tiers and are announced each August. Out of over 3,700 restaurants, the magazine chose to recognize only 850 restaurants with the Best of Awards of Excellence. In this category Wine Spectator’s award honors those with wine lists of 400 or more quality selections. These award winners must also offer significant vintage depth or superior breadth in one or more major wine regions.

Receiving this honor again thrills Element’s and Angel Fire Country Club manager, Jillian Smothers. “To be recognized by this caliber of an award year after year is truly an honor for all of us who love and appreciate the wine selection we’ve created at Elements. Each year we look for the best in new wines to complement our collection and offer our guests the best choices available.”

This year, the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards Program celebrates 36 years of championing excellence in restaurant wine lists. The awards are designed to elevate wine selection and service around the world and encourage strong programs that complement a variety of cuisines, settings, and prices. A full list of the winners will be featured in the August issue of Wine Spectator, which also includes analysis of the current restaurant wine scene and profiles of this year’s new Grand Award winners.
